屠蘇散

正月を命題にした展覧会にて発表した作品の一つです。

「屠蘇」は数種類の薬草を用いて作られる薬酒で、正月に縁起物として飲まれることがあります。屠蘇を作るための生薬を配合したものが「屠蘇散」ですが、生薬の内容は時代や地域によって違うようです。この作品では『本草綱目』に記載されていたとされる赤朮・桂心・防風・菝葜（抜契）・大黄・烏頭・赤小豆を鶴と共に描きました。

This is one of the works presented at an exhibition themed around the New Year. "Toso" is a medicinal liquor made using several kinds of medicinal herbs, and is sometimes drunk as a good luck charm during the New Year. "Toso-san" is a blend of herbs used to make toso, but the contents of the herbs seem to vary depending on the era and region. In this work, I have depicted Atractylodes macrocephala, Cinnamon bark, Saposhnikovia divaricata, Spiraea thunbergii, Rhubarb, Aconite root, and Adzuki beans, which are said to have been listed in the "Compendium of Materia Medica," together with a crane.
