"Yukoku" refers to a quiet valley deep in the mountains. Perhaps this is where the souls of the dead head to in the afterlife.

The wolf with its mouth open is a statue of "A," a symbol of the beginning of the world. This work, along with "Yukoku_Un," served as a guardian for "Existence and Non-Existence," a work marking the entrance to the afterlife, at his 2025 solo exhibition "Incarnation."

The ripe peaches are said to grant eternal youth and longevity and act as a talisman to ward off evil spirits. The solar eclipse behind them represents circulation and rebirth in a world without sunlight.

When placed next to the Unzo Wolf, it becomes a combination that has the roles of circulation and protection.

Guarding the entrance to the afterlife

“Yūkoku” refers to a quiet valley deep in the mountains. Perhaps the “afterlife” where the souls of the dead go is located in such a place.

The wolf with its mouth open represents the “A” statue, a symbol of the beginning of the world. This is one half of the Aun statue. This work, along with “Yūkoku_Un,” served to protect the work “U-mu,” which signifies the entrance to the afterlife, at the 2025 solo exhibition “Keshin (Incarnation).”

The abundant peaches grant immortality and serve as amulets to ward off evil spirits.

The solar eclipse in the background symbolizes the cycle and regeneration in a world without sunlight.

When paired with the “A” statue of the wolf, they form a combination that embodies the roles of cycle and protection.

The recommended order of placement is to place "Yukoku_A" on the right, and "Yukoku_Un" on the left, with "Yumu" sandwiched between them.

Each piece can also be purchased individually.

There is a string on the back so you can hang it on the wall.
