Beyond that

In Japan, where Buddhism is deeply rooted, the Pure Land is also one of the possible destinations for the afterlife. A world free from all worldly desires and impurities, where Buddhas and Bodhisattvas reside. It could be on the top of a high mountain or on an island floating in the sky.
In this work, I depicted this Pure Land as a land enveloped in golden clouds, lush with pine trees, and filled with sacred water among the rocks. From the depths, the sun rises with a soft glow. What would it be like to spend time there?
And is there really a world beyond that?

A world where all desires and impurities are absent, and where Buddhas and Bodhisattvas are said to dwell. Is it located at the summit of a high mountain, or on an island floating in the sky?
In this work, I depicted the Pure Land as a land enveloped in golden clouds, with lush pine trees and sacred water flowing between the rocks. From the depths, a soft, gentle sun rises. What kind of experience would it be to spend time there?
And is there perhaps another world beyond that?
