松島

竜は想像上の動物であり、「人間の想像の産物」を象徴するものとして起用しています。そのような人間の想像力の発現としても、また、日本の民間信仰などにおいて水の神として扱われることからも、竜はエネルギーの通り道と考えることも出来るのではないかと考えています。作品「松島」ではその竜が模様となっている島の上で、咲き乱れる花々に祝福されながら狼が鳳凰と邂逅する場面にしました。

The dragon is an imaginary creature, and I have chosen it as a symbol of "a product of human imagination." As an expression of such human imagination, and also because it is treated as a water god in Japanese folk beliefs, I believe that the dragon can also be considered a conduit of energy. In my work "Matsushima," I have depicted a scene where a wolf encounters a phoenix on an island adorned with dragon motifs, blessed by blooming flowers.
